eUSB 2.0 Hub Repeater
The BW9852 is an integrated USB expansion solution designed to convert a single eUSB2 upstream port to four USB 2.0 downstream ports. It fully complies with USB 2.0 and eUSB2 specifications, supporting high-speed (HS), full-speed (FS), and low-speed (LS) operation. The eUSB2 port operates in repeater mode, and supports 1.2V signaling. The BW9852 incorporates the Multiple Transaction Translator (MTT) architecture, delivering enhanced performance when multiple FS/LS devices are connected and active simultaneously. The BW9852 supports advanced power-saving features including selective suspend and L1/L2 low-power states.

The BW9852 integrates power management and protection features to safeguard both the host and devices. GPIO pins are provided to control external power switches, and monitor the over-current signals from external power switches. Both individual mode and gang mode are supported.

The BW9852 provides multiple control interfaces to enable flexible configuration. It includes an I2C slave interface for fine-tuning eUSB2 parameters, an I2C master interface for accessing external EEPROM, and an SMBus slave interface for communication with an external controller. Through EEPROM or SMBus, hub settings such as Vendor ID (VID), Product ID (PID), and the number of downstream ports can be easily customized.
